Alberta Playwrights Network: a nonprofit provincial arts service organization and registered charity dedicated to fostering playwriting in Alberta.

Alliance for Arts and Culture: Advocates for the arts and culture sector through a variety of programs, services, and communications strategies, aiming to increase public awareness of and accessibility to arts and culture.

Arts Build Ontario: seeks to provide advice and funding to assist small and mid-sized performing and visual arts organizations in undertaking capital projects.

Association des professionnels des arts de la scène du Québec: Professional association of set, costume, lighting, sound, props, and puppet designers; stage managers; set painters; assistant costume and set designers; and assistant stage directors.

Association of Summer Theatres Round Ontario: Professional theatres committed to the support, growth, and cultivation of summer theatre through partnerships, collaborative marketing strategies, sharing information, and networking.

British Columbia Arts Council: is the agency of the government of the Province of British Columbia committed to ensuring that all British Columbians are able to participate in a healthy arts and cultural community recognized for its excellence. Our mission is to support the arts and cultural community to achieve its creative, social and economic potential.

Canada Council for the Arts: provides creation, production, dissemination and play translation assistance to professional Canadian theatre artists and organizations. The Theatre Section also contributes to operating costs and touring costs in Canada and abroad, as well as to special initiatives for the promotion of coproductions and artistic collaborations at the national and international levels.

Canadian Actors Equity Association: is the professional association of performers, directors, choreographers and stage managers in Canada, who are engaged in English-language live performance including the stage, opera, ballet and dance.

Canadian Theatre Encyclopedia: The Encyclopedia collects and disseminates information on plays, playwrights and theatre practitioners in Canada.

Canadian Theatre Review: is the major magazine of record for Canadian theatre. It is committed to excellence in the critical analysis and innovative coverage of current developments in Canadian theatre, to advocating new issues and artists, and to publishing at least one significant new playscript per issue.

Centre des auteurs dramatiques: CEAD works for the development, promotion, and circulation of plays and playwrights from Quebec and French-speaking Canada.

Conseil québécois du théâtre: A national association, the Conseil québécois du théâtre represents the professional theatre community in Quebec.

Dance With Kailena: A dance school located in Ottawa, Ontario.

Dora Mavor Moore Award: The Dora Mavor Moore Awards honour the creators of over 200 theatre, dance and opera productions annually in five major categories in Toronto.

Gracing the Stage: is a website which features concise listings of theatre, dance, comedy, film, and music events occurring in Toronto. It has been written by Steve Fisher since 2002.

Greater Vancouver Professional Theatre Alliance: A service organization representing regional theatre companies/venues and dedicated to promoting live theatre and fostering a thriving environment for the continued growth and development of theatre.

Jessie Richardson Theatre Awards: The Jessie Richardson Theatre Award Society is a non-profit charitable organization that exists to celebrate and promote the outstanding achievements of the Vancouver Professional Theatre community by producing the annual Jessie Richardson Theatre Awards. The society was formed in 1997, and took over the production of the Awards Ceremony from the Greater Vancouver Professional Theatre Alliance, who had presented it since its beginning in the 1982-83 season.

Manitoba Arts Council: Nonprofit organization whose purpose is to foster the arts of the province by operating financial assistance programs and by working with government and the community to develop the arts.

Meadow Brook Theatre (Rochester, Michigan) is Michigan’s largest non-profit producing professional theatre. There is also a livejournal site.

Mooney on Theatre: is a website about theatre, edited by Megan Mooney. It includes contributions about specific productions from writers with a variety of levels of experiences with theatre, as well as thoughts from Megan on theatre in general.

National Theatre School of Canada: Established in Montreal, the National Theatre School (NTS) offers professional training in English and French in Acting, Playwriting, Directing, set and costume design and production.

Newfoundland and Labrador Arts Council: Nonprofit organization whose purpose is to foster the arts of the province by operating financial assistance programs and by working with government and the community to develop the arts.

Nova Scotia Arts and Culture Partnership Council: is a partnership between the cultural sector and the Department of Tourism, Culture and Heritage. In consultation with the cultural community, the NSACPC facilitates the development, preservation and promotion of the arts and culture.

Ontario Arts Council: Ontario's primary funding body for professional arts activity. Theatre Office grant programs include Theatre Organizations, Theatre Projects, Theatre Creators'Reserve, and Playwrights Residency; other programs are also available.

Organization of Saskatchewan Arts Councils: acts as an umbrella for community arts councils and schools across the province. OSAC is a non-profit charitable organization.

Performing Arts New Brunswick, INC: A non-profit organization that works to enrich the performing arts in NB through professional development, advocacy, booking services, a speaker series, networking, and administrative support.

Prince Edward Island Council of the Arts: has provided vital support to the arts on Prince Edward Island since 1974. Dedicated to ensuring that all Prince Edward Islanders enjoy the benefits of a healthy arts community, the PEICA works to foster the development of the arts through advocacy, education, programs and services.

Professional Association of Canadian Theatres: is a member-driven organization that serves as the collective voice of professional Canadian theatres. For the betterment of Canadian theatre, PACT provides leadership, national representation and a variety of programs and practical assistance to member companies, enabling members to do their own creative work.

Quebec Drama Federation: Quebec's umbrella association for English-language theatre, providing support services for professional companies and artists working in English in Quebec.
Robert Merritt Awards: recongizes excellence in Nova Scotian theatre.

Saskatchewan Arts Alliance: Provides a collective voice for the arts in Saskatchewan and advocates on issues such as public funding of the arts, freedom of expression, and artists' working conditions.

Saskatchewan Arts Board: Provides a wide range of services, including grants to artists, arts organizations, and cultural workers, that enable Saskatchewan residents to experience and enjoy the arts.

Saskatchewan Playwrights Centre: A playwright-run organization that encourages script development of new Saskatchewan plays, assists new playwrights, and promotes Saskatchewan playwriting to theatres across Canada.

Siminovitch Prize: Canada's largest annual theatre arts award, the 2009 Siminovitch Prize in Theatre is given annually to a professional practicioner who advances Canadian theatre through a body of work achieved in recent years, while influencing and inspiring younger theatre artists.


Small Theatre Administrative Facility: STAF provides affordable administrative support as well as marketing and promotional services to professional theatre artists in Ontario.

Snezana Pesic: Native of Serbia and graduate of the MFA Theatre Design program at the University of Alberta (2007), Snezana Pesic is currently based in Canada, where she works as a set, costume and lighting designer.

Sterling Awards: are an annual celebration of theatre in Edmonton.

Theatre Alberta: Encouraging the growth of theatre in Alberta. Offering numerous programs and services including a library, Artstrek, Dramaworks, PlayWorks Ink, Emerge, Safe Stages, Theatre Alberta News, Theatre Buzz, Playbill poster, and information and advocacy.

Theatre BC: Provincial arts service organization, representing community theatre throughout BC, providing professionally adjudicated festivals, workshops, programs, and promotional services.

Theatre Canada: is an organization of organizations. We are a national "umbrella" structure, so that our members can concentrate on doing what they do best: producing great theatre. We act as a information clearinghouse about what is happening in each member organization across the country and we encourage our members to exchange newsletters and to keep in touch with each other.

Theatre Cares Vancouver: A volunteer-based organization uniting the generous spirit of Vancouve's performing arts community with its supporters to raise funds and awareness for HIV/AIDS relief and other worthy causes.

Theatre Nova Scotia: Nonprofit organization that serves both the amateur and professional theatre communities across Nova Scotia with educational programs, theatre festivals, workshops, and a resource centre.

Toronto Alliance for the Performing Arts: An umbrella organization that represents professional performing arts companies, including theatre, dance, and opera, TAPA works to create an environment of mutual support and unity in which the performing arts in Toronto can flourish.

Toronto Theatre: A comprehensive online source for theatre in Toronto and the surrounding area.

Toronto Youth Arts Link: The Toronto Youth Arts Link blog is intended to provide a resource for people between the ages of 16-24 who live in the GTA and are interested in getting involved in the arts. Information on local auditions, internships, volunteer opportunities, jobs and programs are added on a regular basis, so feel free to check back often or subscribe to our RSS feed.
